DEFEND WOMEN’S RIGHTS TO HEALTH CARE IN FLORIDA
The MAGA Republicans in Tallahassee have repeatedly passed legislation to severely limit access to health care for women in Florida. This is unacceptable, dangerous government overreach. We need to oppose the politicians responsible for the assault on women’s rights. Everyone needs to vote YES on Amendment 4 in November and support the candidates backing the measure.

Republicans in Florida and nationwide through the dangerous Project 2025 playbook (learn more HERE) want to gut the Affordable Care Act and remove Medicare’s ability to negotiate drug prices on behalf of the American people. There are over 3 million Floridians with pre-existing conditions who rely on ACA who would immediately lose health care access if Republicans get their way.
In addition, we are about to see a ~50% cost decrease in selected prescription drugs as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (read more HERE), a massive win for the Biden-Harris administration.
COMBAT THE RISING COST OF INSURANCE IN FLORIDA
Insurance costs in Florida are out of control. Recently, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation announced a 14% increase to all personal lines of insurance policies (link HERE). This is just months after Governor DeSantis signed HB 837 into law, limiting Florida’s ability to seek damages against their insurance providers (link HERE). DeSantis and the Republicans have only worked to protect insurance companies, leaving everyday Floridians to pick up the tab.
MAKE FLORIDA RESILIENT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE
The effects of climate change have been obvious in Florida. More intense natural disasters have resulted in death and destroyed lives, and these tragedies lie at the feet of Governors Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis due to their dismissal of the crisis (link HERE). Florida needs to elect politicians who want to make Florida more prepared in the future with climate-resilient infrastructure, because much damage has already been done. If elected, I will make sure that Floridians have a future to pass along to their children and grandchildren.
SUPPORT TRANSPARENCY AND ETHICS ENFORCEMENT
Before DeSantis became governor, Florida had a good reputation for government transparency. Since taking office, he has refused to release public records, including COVID infection rates, travel records, visits to his mansion and migrant relocation efforts. He also signed SB 7014 into law, making ethics enforcement nearly impossible in our state. I will restore Florida’s commitment to transparency in the legislature.
RESTORE THE INDEPENDENCE OF LOCAL AND CITY GOVERNMENT
Governor DeSantis and the right wing extremists in Tallahassee have passed many destructive laws that restrict what is known as “Home Rule”. This means that local governments have far less ability to govern in the way they see fit, and is another glaring example of government overreach.
A few examples of the laws they have passed include: banning local laws that protect people from working in extremely hot conditions, preventing local leaders from creating citizen review panels for police forces and forbidding the ability to change the minimum wage.
